At the Hollingbourne Parish Assembly, we announced the results of the 20mph consultation, where an overwhelming majority of villagers supported the extension of the 20mph limit in the village.
The results were submitted to KCC for their assessment and approval. After months of funding negotiations, we can now announce that KCC has secured the funding for this project, from Active Travel England.
There are five formal stages that need to be completed, before implementation/refusal of the proposed extension of the 20mph limit. We therefore move to Stage 3 of the process below:

2.KCC Assessment – Active Travel Funding – Secured by KCC on the 23/06/2026 – Completed
3.Drafting & Legal Preparation (TRO) – Ongoing
4.Formal TRO Consultation Statutory 21‑day public consultation period.
5.Review of Objections / Comments
Once the legal paperwork is drawn-up, we will move to the statutory consultation process with a view to implementation after April 2027. When the consultation is launched, we will announce it here and we encourage you to share your views.
